Heritage Community Foundation Presents a $2,500 Grant to ClearWater Academy

Jonesboro, Ga. (July 25, 2017) – The Heritage Community Foundation presented a $2,500 grant to Heidi Johnson, Director of ClearWater Academy in Tyrone, Georgia to purchase critical reading and life-skills curriculum for students with developmental disabilities. ClearWater Academy focuses on providing students with special needs effective academic instructional experiences along with life-skills training.

“We are so pleased and proud to partner with ClearWater Academy to provide up to date curriculum resources for their students,” said Mark Dose, Executive Director of the Heritage Community Foundation. “These well-researched and specially developed resources promote self-confidence and effective communication skills in students with special needs and are vital in preparing these students for success in the future.”

ClearWater Academy focuses on maximizing the potential of students with special needs by providing academic resources, life-skills and real-world applications to promote independence, productivity and an improved quality of life for these students. The school provides cutting edge, research-based instruction unique to every student to prepare them for productive adulthood.

Heritage Community Foundation (HCF) is a 501c3 organization which provides funding to local nonprofit organizations in Clayton, Henry and Fayette counties. HCF is designed to support Heritage Bank’s first mission, “Committed to those we serve.” Heritage Bank absorbs all of the operating costs of the foundation, so 100% of the funds raised go directly to meet community needs.
