A Friend’s House

A Friend’s House operates as a home for children in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services. The doors opened on October 27, 1998 and 1,895 children have been welcomed since. Residents stay for an unspecified length of time while a best course of action is determined based on a child’s assessment needs. A Friend’s House is dedicated to meeting the emotional and physical needs of children by offering counseling, medical treatment, academic assistance and recreational opportunities.

Academy for Advanced Studies, The

The Academy for Advanced Studies was founded in Fall of 2009, and its mission is to ensure each student graduates high school with the knowledge, skills and attributes necessary for college and career success. Alzheimer’s Services Center, Inc.

The mission of Alzheimer’s Services Center (ASC) is to enhance and prolong the highest quality of life possible for persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other related disorders and for those who are their caregivers. It offers affordable adult day services, respite care, and support services.

Arts Clayton, Inc.

Arts Clayton, Inc. is a non-profit community arts organization dedicated to enriching lives through the Arts. Association of Village PRIDE, Inc.

Association of Village PRIDE, Inc. (AVPRIDE) is a Youth Leadership Development organization that offers tutoring, mentoring and youth development programs that work with elementary, middle, and high school students and their families to address the attitudes, beliefs, behaviors, and circumstances that put them at risk for engaging in unhealthy behaviors.

Bloom

Bloom connects caring adults with at-risk children who have been the victims of abuse or neglect as well as pregnant and teenage parents. Bloom foster parents provide physical, educational and emotional support in order to strengthen these children for the next phase of life.

Clayton State University

The CSU Foundation’s Retention Scholarship Fund is administered through the Financial Aid Office to students who most demonstrate need. Each fall, 25-30 students end up dropping out for the semester so that they can earn enough money to pay for their education. History shows that many of these students won’t re-enroll and will never see their dream of a college degree realized. The Retention Scholarship Fund helps these students reach the finish line and graduate from college.

Clearwater Academy

ClearWater Academy is a private, accredited, state-of-the-art, 501(c)(3) school located in Tyrone,GA, for students diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, mild Autism, Language Processing Delays, ADD, ADHD, Sensory Integration Disorder, PDD/NOS, and Non-Verbal Learning Disabilities. Communities In Schools

Communities In Schools (CIS) started in Georgia more than 30 years ago and is now the nation’s leading dropout prevention organization. The CIS model has been implemented in all 11 middle schools in Henry County since August 2012. The mission of CIS is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. It is the goal of CIS to support youth by improving graduation rates, encouraging academic achievement, and promoting job and post-secondary school readiness.

Connecting Henry

Connecting Henry, a nonprofit organization, is the local branch of the Georgia Family Connection in Henry County which assists with planning, implementing or incubating programs and services to strengthen children and families. The organization fields calls from individuals, non-profit organizations, churches and businesses to link them to existing resources within the community.

Crosswalk Ministries USA, Inc.

Crosswalk Ministries USA, Inc. (Crosswalk)’s mission is to reduce juvenile crime and address its underlying causes by providing Christ-centered preventive and aftercare programs for at-risk youth. Their desire is to give hope for a better future to juvenile offenders and offer healing for families affected by incarceration. Crosswalk believes that every person has value and potential, one’s future is not defined by his past, and negative cycles of behavior can be broken.

The Fayette County Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization that solely supports the Fayette County Public School System. It was established by community members, the Fayette County Public School System, and the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce to promote enhanced learning opportunities for students and staff. The Foundation funds innovative, creative programs that are typically above and beyond the normal operating budget of the school system.

Fayette Pregnancy Resource Center

Fayette Pregnancy Resource Center is a non-profit organization that offers support to women facing an unplanned pregnancy. They serve women of all ages, as well as their families, husbands, boyfriends and friends. Since they opened their doors, they have had the privilege of serving thousands of women and their families by offering free pregnancy tests, counseling, and resources for pregnancy and parenting.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ mission is to present to coaches and athletes, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church. Students are trained in leadership skills so they can return to their high school campuses to be role models and leaders for FCA meetings, where all the student body is welcome.

The Forest Park Ministers Association is an organization that was formed to bring together citizens, government, businesses and the church to help understand one another. By building partnerships among the local faith-based community, schools, and other community leaders, FPMA is able to recognize the needs of the community and work to meet them in tangible ways.

Fuller Center, The

The Fuller Center is located in McDonough, Georgia and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that seeks to eradicate poverty housing by promoting partnerships with individuals and community groups to build and rehabilitate homes for people who are unable to secure adequate housing by conventional means. All homeowners work hand-in-hand with volunteers to build their own homes, which are then sold to them on terms they can afford, based on the Biblical idea of no-profit, no-interest loans.

Good Shepherd

Good Shepherd Clinic’s mission is to provide low- or no-cost primary medical care to uninsured residents of Clayton County who have limited financial resources. H.O.P.E Park

The H.O.P.E. Park Community Garden is a teaching garden designed to help children and adults learn how to grow, harvest, prepare and preserve health by food in small spaces. The garden is open to the public across the Southern Crescent Area and is currently run by volunteers. The community garden is the first phase in the H.O.P.E. Park project which will include at a later date recreational fields for handicapped and non-handicapped athletes.

Haven House

Haven House is a domestic violence shelter and program serving victims of family violence in Henry, Jasper, Butts and Lamar Counties. The shelter for women and children strives for an atmosphere of caring and safety. It provides for both privacy and socialization, with trained staff available to help guide residents through the process of finding legal protection and moving to more permanent housing.
