Heritage Community Foundation Presents Grant to Rachel’s Ray of Hope, Inc.

Jonesboro, Ga. (December 14, 2015) – The Heritage Community Foundation presented a grant to Keri Cannella-Moye, President of Rachel’s Ray of Hope, Inc., on November 12, 2015. The $1500 grant will be used to purchase school supplies, backpacks, clothing and shoes for children in Fayette County who are going through some sort of hardship.

Rachel’s Ray of Hope opened its clothes closet in July 2015 with a mission to help children in the Fayette County School district whose families are struggling to provide basic necessities for their children. Rachel’s Ray of Hope is there to ensure the children in these difficult circumstances are given the opportunity for academic success. Students are identified by school social workers, counselors and personnel, as well as by other local non-profit organizations. Rachel’s Ray of Hope also works with families who have children qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Once identified, the children are invited to “shop” for clothes and school supplies at no cost to the family. New and gently used clothing is donated by individuals in the local community. The “store” is available to the community year-round, therefore clothing for all seasons is needed.
