Jonesboro, Ga. (June 28, 2017) – The Heritage Community Foundation presented a $2,000 grant to Lori Beth Blaney, Founder and Executive Director of Rachel’s Gift, Inc., for resources and training for labor and delivery nurses and other health professionals to support and help mothers and families through the initial phase of infant loss.
“Rachel’s Gift is a unique organization that has already made a difference in the lives of families in our community” said Mark Dose, Executive Director of the Heritage Community Foundation. “This grant will provide resources to train and prepare front-line hospital staff to compassionately help and ease the pain and grief of losing an infant. We heard from hospital nurses about the wonderful difference the Rachel’s Gift program continues to make in the lives of grieving families. We are pleased and proud to partner with them to help them expand the educational resources they provide for hospital staff”.
