Heritage Community Foundation to Host Sporting Clays Event

Jonesboro, Ga. (August 10, 2018) – The Heritage Community Foundation, a charitable foundation established in 2015 by employees of Heritage Bank, announced today it will host a Sporting Clays event on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Cherokee Rose Sporting Resort in Griffin, Georgia.

“We are excited to announce our 1st Annual Sporting Clays Classic event and we look forward to a great day of fun and fellowship with all those in our area that enjoy skeet shooting,” said Jack Bowdoin, Board Member of the Heritage Community Foundation.  “We are looking for sponsors and for shooting teams to join us for some friendly competition and at the same time, support the ongoing work of the Heritage Community Foundation.”

All of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Heritage Community Foundation which is a 501c3 organization.  The HCF provides funding to local nonprofit organizations in Clayton, Henry and Fayette counties. Since 2015, the HCF has provided nearly $400,000 in grant funds to more than 100 non-profit groups in our area.  HCF is designed to support Heritage Bank’s first mission, “Committed to those we serve.”  Heritage Bank absorbs all of the operating costs of the foundation, so 100% of the funds donated go directly to meet community needs in the form of grant awards.

“Our Foundation is unique in that every dollar donated is converted into a charitable grant,” said Mark Dose, Executive Director of the HCF.  “Donated funds are not used to pay for any of our operational costs.  Heritage Bank generously pays all of the organization’s operating expenses so every cent of a gift to the Heritage Community Foundation is invested back into the community.”
