Heritage Community Foundation Provides $100,000 in Grants to Local Non-Profit Groups in 2017

Jonesboro, Ga. (October 19, 2017) – The Heritage Community Foundation Board of Directors announced today that through September of 2017 it has provided $101,532 in grant awards to 41 different non-profit groups and agencies serving Henry, Clayton and Fayette Counties.  The Foundation was created in 2015 by the employees of Heritage Bank to support and reinforce the good work of local non-profit groups and agencies and has provided over $290,000 in grants to local groups since beginning its work in 2015.

“We are excited to report the great success of our Foundation’s success,” said Kerry Arnold, the Heritage Community Foundation’s Board Chairman.  “This charitable organization was formed by the employees of Heritage Bank to invest in the local groups that are doing the hard work day in and day out to make a difference in the lives of people in our community.  The fact that this year alone we have provided over $100,000 in grants to these groups is humbling and very exciting.”

The Heritage Community Foundation reports that 100% of donations are used to fund grant awards.  All of the Foundation’s operational costs are paid by Heritage Bank.

“The employees of Heritage Bank provide about $30,000 of our funding through payroll deduction donations,” said Arnold.  “In addition, Heritage Bank donates $25,000 and also pays every penny of the Foundation’s operational expenses.  It is wonderful to let people know that 100% of the money donated to the Foundation is used to fund grant awards and no donations go to pay the light bill or salaries.  We are so fortunate to have this extraordinary support from Heritage Bank to help us invest in the good work non-profit groups are doing in our community.”

In addition to the support from Heritage Bank, a number of individuals and local businesses support the Foundation through their partnership in the Heritage Society and the HCF Community IMPACT Club.  These business partners include Harding Plumbing, Brent Scarbrough & Co., C & C Fence Co., Heritage Cadillac, Lincoln Insurance, Paragon Alarm Systems, Central Station Monitoring, The Dockery Group, Waldrop & Trite, LLC.,, JR Davis Tools, Griffin Insurance, New South Package and Emmett J. Arnold Law, P.C., and David Curry.

“We are grateful for the generosity of individuals and businesses in our area,” said Jenny Smith, Heritage Community Foundation Treasurer.  “These individuals and businesses have pledged to provide nearly $60,000 for the work of the Foundation this year. We couldn’t do our work without their incredible support.”

Heritage Community Foundation (HCF) is a 501c3 organization which provides funding to local nonprofit organizations in Clayton, Henry and Fayette counties.
