Heritage Community Foundation Presents Grant to Helping in His Name Ministries, Inc.

Jonesboro, Ga. (May 23, 2016) – The Heritage Community Foundation presented a grant to Kaye Sheets, Executive Director, and Sandy Craig, Board Member, of Helping in His Name Ministries, Inc. on May 10, 2016. The $3,000 grant will be used to purchase three new desktop computers. Ms. Craig stated, “Our current system is very slow and crashes often. It is only a matter of time before we cannot reboot and access our data.” The new computers will help them better serve their almost 20,000 clients.

Helping in His Name Ministries (aka The Food Pantry) is an ecumenical non-profit organization that provides temporary emergency help to the hungry and needy people of Henry County. The mission of Helping In His Name Ministries, Inc. is to model the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing free food to the unemployed, the underemployed, the elderly, and single parents. No one with a legitimate need is refused help. This mission is carried out by a volunteer work force and a small staff using donated food and money. Helping in His Name Ministries’ goal is usually short term, “stop-gap help” as long term relief is usually outside the scope of their operations. Since its inception in 1990, The Food Pantry has grown significantly as it currently feeds more than 3,100 people a month.
