Heritage Community Foundation Presents Grant to Henry Horizons, Inc.

Jonesboro, Ga. (September 16, 2015) – The Heritage Community Foundation presented a grant to Mary Culver, Chief Executive Officer of Henry Horizons, Inc. in McDonough on September 9, 2015. The $1,800 grant will used by Henry Horizons to purchase five student computers, one parent computer, and two workstation desks.

The mission of Henry Horizons is to give teens and young adults the tools they need to become successful members of the community.  This involves education, mentoring, career building, and problem solving.  Through partnerships with local businesses, career training centers and community agencies, the program supports youth in building a positive and productive future. Henry Horizons provides a place where students who have taken a non-traditional route to complete high school can go to get those last credits they need for a diploma or go through classes to help them earn a GED. It targets the increasingly diverse population and unengaged youth in our community. The goal is to provide resources and support for students, parents and young adults, so that they may learn, become involved, and thrive. Completion of general education or private school diplomas, career training and job placement services are available. Through a partnership with Henry County Schools, students who withdraw from high school are given information on how Henry Horizons may be able to help.
